These awards recognize outstanding workplace environment initiatives in businesses and the public sector.

Gecina wanted to reduce food waste by trialing a circular economy system for the company restaurant at its headquarters. In line with these commitments, Gecina has established a partnership with the charity Le Chaînon Manquant to redistribute any meals not consumed each day to local charities supporting underprivileged people. By taking action in this way, several thousand meals will be redistributed each year.

This pilot initiative has enabled Le Chaînon Manquant to model its processes for collecting, redistributing and managing donations in compliance with the specific food safety regulations for collective catering. This innovative model, bringing together a catering firm, a business group and a charity, has enabled Gecina to formalize a tripartite agreement that can now be replicated by other organizations looking to adopt this circular economy approach.

Gilbert Bonzon, Workplace Environment Manager at Gecina, was delighted with this achievement: “On behalf of Gecina, I am very pleased to receive this award, which recognizes the work accomplished to build this initiative jointly with Le Chaînon Manquant, Sogeres and Interface Restauration for the restaurant at our headquarters. This successful trial initiative will be rolled out across other company restaurants within Gecina's portfolio”.
