Jardins de l’Arche:First housing in Paris La Défense for 30 years

At the heart of Europe’s leading business district, Jardins de l’Arche will become the new leisure destination for Western Paris by 2017. An outstanding living hub, it is fully aligned with EPADESA’s strategy for Paris La Défense, aiming in particular to further strengthen its international appeal and open itself up to the world around it.

On Wednesday March 23, 2016, Bruno Corinti, Nexity Group Deputy Managing Director and President of Development, Residential and Commercial Operations, Philippe Depoux, Chief Executive Officer of Gecina, and Marc Delozanne, Chairman of IESEG, welcomed Yann Jounot, Prefect of Hauts-de-Seine, Joëlle Ceccaldi-Raynaud, Mayor of Puteaux, Vice-President of Territoire Paris Ouest La Défense, Patrick Jarry, Mayor of Nanterre, Chairman of EPADESA’s Board of Directors, and Hugues Parant, Chief Executive Officer of EPADESA, in order to lay the foundation stone together for the Skylight housing program, its student residence and the IESEG business school.


With the first housing for 30 years in Paris La Défense, Skylight will completely transform the supply in this sector. Designed by the architects Louis Paillard, the program is spread over 20 floors, with nearly 300 apartments to be delivered at the end of 2017, including:

  • A program of 113 units, from studios to 1-bedroom apartments, developed by Nexity

  • A student residence hall with 168 units, from 1-room studios to 1-bedroom apartments, with Gecina as the investor.


    This program is fully aligned with the RT 2012, EFFINERGIE+, Habitat et Environnement Profile A environmental criteria.


Alongside this, IESEG, the top-ranking graduate business school in the Financial Times 2015 league table, already present in La Défense with around 1,800 students, will be setting up at the base of Skylight, with the Campus de l’Arche, designed by Franklin Azzi, over nearly 8,000 sq.m. The school will be opening to 3,400 students from the start of the 2017 academic year.

Grande Arche, an outstanding destination

By 2017, the Jardins de l’Arche district, at the foot of the Grande Arche and developed exclusively by EPADESA, will become an outstanding tourism and leisure destination, just 10 minutes from Central Paris thanks to the La Défense transport hub. For instance, the Nanterre La Défense Arena, Europe’s largest indoor concert venue, able to accommodate up to 40,000 spectators, is currently being built and will open its doors in early 2017. Shops, housing, schools, restaurants, pop-up stores and new hotels, including the CitizenM boutique hotel, will bring high-quality amenities and regular activities to La Défense, around a gradually sloping walkway that is 600 meters long and 16 to 40 meters wide, developed and financed exclusively by EPADESA for 30 million euros.

This exceptional urban project, led by EPADESA, will connect the business district to the Terrasses de Nanterre sector, followed later by the Groues and Croissant districts. At the heart of this unique neighborhood, the Grande Arche, which is currently being renovated, will welcome its first leisure and business tourists from early 2017 thanks to the new features being developed on its roof and its panoramic viewpoint.

Created by decree, EPADESA does not receive public subsidies, but operates on a self-funding basis thanks to sales of building rights. It draws on a range of in-house skills, from urban planners to engineers and economists, to carry out its missions, while developing decision-support tools for its partners.
