Gecina and GarantMe sign an exclusive partnership deal to facilitate access to housing for students

The Gecina Group, the first integrated operator for student residences in France, and the startup GarantMe, the rent guarantee specialist, are linking up to facilitate access to housing for students.

Each year, the Gecina Group welcomes and houses over 3,000 students in the residences operated by its subsidiary Campuséa at the heart of France’s leading university cities, from Paris to Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon and Marseille. It offers French and international students an ideal living environment and a range of dedicated services to ensure they can fulfil their potential and succeed with their studies.

The GarantMe solution offers Gecina a rent guarantee enabling it to rent its student residences to tenants that meet various solvency criteria. This startup offers support for students, young workers, expatriates and self-employed professionals who do not have guarantors in order to help them prepare their rental applications. With this partnership, Campuséa is further strengthening its range of services for French and international students.

“With GarantMe, Gecina, through its Campuséa brand, is making life easier for French and international students by enabling them to access quality housing under the best conditions. I am delighted that the benefits of this partnership are already starting to be seen, with more than 100 tenant applications successfully processed since June 2018”, confirms Franck Lirzin, Gecina’s Executive Director Residential.

“Thanks to this new partnership, we are opening up access to housing for students by acting as their guarantor. We share a common vision of the rental market with Gecina: it needs to be fluid and balanced between landlords and tenants”, concludes Thomas Reynaud, GarantMe’s CEO.
