The Gecina Foundation is taking its efforts to the next level: long-term project support and year-round employee engagement

Fostering new projects, providing long-term support to organizations

The Foundation is launching a new call for proposals in its four areas of focus: inclusion of people with disabilities, environmental protection, preservation of cultural heritage, and access to housing for underprivileged communities. This initiative, which is repeated each year, will help expand the pool of applicant organizations and select the initiatives to be supported for one year.

Projects requiring longer-term support may be eligible for three-year partnerships, each with funding ranging from €100,000 to €200,000. This will provide organizations with the visibility needed to carry out their initiatives, while allowing the Foundation to monitor their results.

These two forms of support will be funded by an annual endowment of €300,000. The Board of Directors will select the projects, determine the funding amounts, and monitor their implementation.

From “Solidarity Friday” to skills-based philanthropy throughout the year

Employee engagement is the other pillar of this initiative. Since 2017, Vendredi solidaire has allowed employees to dedicate one workday to hands-on projects alongside nonprofit organizations aligned with the Foundation’s priorities. For its tenth edition on September 18, 2026, 24 partner organizations welcomed Gecina employees to assist with gardening, handyman work, volunteer support, or skills-based philanthropy.

Given the success of this annual event and the desire of many employees to engage more sustainably with the organizations supported by the Gecina Foundation, the company has decided to expand its skills-based volunteering program.

By partnering with the specialized platform Day One, Gecina now enables its employees to volunteer with the nonprofit of their choice during work hours. Day One lists several nonprofits and needs reported to the Gecina Foundation, which employees can address based on their areas of expertise, availability, and personal preferences.
